Basic Air crewmen Training
CareFlight Training and Safety Services’ Basic Air Crewmen course is designed to train students to operate as part of an integrated crew on board an operational helicopter. Graduates of the course learn to verbally position a helicopter into a confined area, operate a winch, assist with in-flight emergencies and deal with winch failures. All graduates are trained to the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) CAO 29.11 standard, and will achieve certificate of attainment for four competencies and partial completion of an additional six competencies towards the certificate III in aviation (rescue crewmen) and certificate IV in aviation (air crewmen).

The Certificate IV in Aviation (Air Crewmen) course is a highly structured program covering all areas of the professional air crewmen’s role. The delivery tempo and structure of the full course is similar to military training and dependant on delivery method chosen. The course is designed to take those who have never flown before right through all the competencies so they can pursue a role within the exciting world of aviation. Early exit options exist for those wanting to complete flying on the job.

Certificate III in Aviation (Rescue Crewmen) Training - AVI30509
The Certificate III in Aviation (Rescue Crewmen) course is designed specifically to teach students how to operate as a rescue crewman in an EMS helicopter. Graduates are commonly called “down-the-wiremen” and are able to provide survival assistance to personnel requiring land and water rescue. The delivery tempo and structure of the full course is similar to military training and dependant on delivery method chosen. B 412 Helicopter Endorsements Training
The CareFlight Training and Safety Services B412 Helicopter Endorsements Course has been designed by aviation specialists to provide qualified pilots with the required aircraft conversion training in the operation of the B412 helicopter. The course offers theoretical knowledge of the aircraft systems and appropriate practical training to safely operate the B412 helicopter.
